Medi Alarm is a medical alert alarm, landline-based, home only device that allows you to call for help if you suffer a fall, can’t get up, or find yourself in an emergency situation.
No. Medi Alarm simply uses your telephone line to dial out and alert family and friends with a message when you need help.
In an emergency, simply push the button on the wearable fob or wrist alarm unit and the Base Unit will dial your telephone contacts one at a time. The unit will play the pre-recorded message (something like ‘Mum needs help’) until someone answers the call for help. The Medi Alarm can detect the difference between a human voice and a voice mail greeting and will continue to dial until a contact is reached.
The Base Unit will work up to 50m away. If you want to utilise the two-way speakerphone function whilst on a call, you will need to be within 6 feet of the base unit.
The Base Unit has a battery backup for users that do not have the NBN. The user is required to supply four AAA batteries. Please note, if connected via the NBN, your NBN service may or may not be also down. If there is no active NBN connection, the Medi Alarm will not work.
No. 000 will not work with the Landline Medi Alarm. If you require 000 as a listed contact then please consider purchasing our Medi Alarm PRO 4G or 3G Fall Detector devices.
You can add any phone number you wish. We suggest selecting contacts who are reliably contactable on their mobile or landline phones. These contacts are the people Medi Alarm will call when the fob or wrist button is pushed. They should be people that know you and who can assist if you require help. 000 will not work on the Landline Medi Alarm.
The Medi alarm is covered by a 12-month warranty. This covers normal usage of the product and does not cover any misuse of the equipment whatsoever. Physical damage, misuse, lightning damage, high voltage transient damage, or battery replacement are not covered under the terms of this warranty.
